No matter who wins the presidency on Nov. 5th, statistics tell us that roughly half the country will feel like they “lost” the election. With that in mind I wanted to provide some encouragement to those who call Jesus their Lord.
Better than a prediction these are solid guarantees from the Word of God.
So here’s a list of people who are guaranteed to win no matter who will sit in the Oval Office.
People who know Jesus is King, and His Kingdom has no end (Luke 1:33)
Christ followers work to bring God’s kingdom into reality right now where we are. We recognize that the American Empire has an expiration date like all earthly empires. However, Jesus reign has only just begun.
People who believes that in all situations God works for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to his purposes (Romans 8:28)
There’s some caveats there, that its for those who love and know they are called to be on mission with God, but once you got that, man its REALLY encouraging to think that no matter what this life has to throw at us God can work it to the good. Not that everything is going to be good, or even look good according to the worlds standards but our God has a knack for redeeming broken people and situations.
People who are more concerned with God’s purposes then their agenda (Matthew 6:33)
“Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.” Matthew 6:33 NCV
People who see themselves as foreigners here (John 17:15)
Praying shortly before he was to be crucified, Jesus was serious about what his trainees were to do next. His prayer to the Father in heaven was that his disciples would be prepared to be persecuted (ie not the majority). If the world hated Him, people who are called to be little versions of Him should expect no different. So His prayer was for protection against the evil one (verse 15) and then for them to be set apart and different from the world. (Verse 16) Not taken out of the world but to be lights in the darkness. (Matt 5:14-16)
You cannot lose during this election season if your citizenship is in heaven.
God has called us to more as his followers than to just vote on change but are agents of change. If you want to hear more, listen to my sermon on “Who would Jesus Vote for?”
